Facing the Facts

There seems to be issues that surround our problems. These issues will cause us to focus mainly on the issue or the problem so much that we begin to define ourselves by that issue or problem. Take for example at the beginning of the downturn in the economy many analysts said that we were heading for another great depression. Even with the bailout plans and the stimulus plans many were saying that it was to little to late.

I find that when we are negative about our problems or situations we will not focus much on the hope for a solution. We defeat ourselves by beating up on any solution that offers hope. One thing is for sure, we have become negative on all issues that speak to the values and morals that we were founded upon. We deny God's transcendence and immanence because we deny His positive desire for a solution to our situation. We want to discredit His solution because it seems impossible for such a all powerful, all knowing, ever present God to offer such a solution to man's fallen nature.

We must begin to face the facts about the situation in our country, states, and local municipalities and that is their solution will only effect the temporal aspects of our lives not the eternity. Therefore, I am suggesting for all who read this to face the facts and focus upon the eternal solution to all your issues and problems. Here are ten questions to answer that I feel will help you with facing the facts of a Christ Centered faith.

1. Am I seeking God's plan in my finances?
2. Am I seeking to give to God what he has given to me?
3. Am I following and practicing a biblical view of salvation?
4. Am I loving God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength?
5. Am I fellow-shipping with God's people?
6. Am I growing in knowledge and truth?
7. Am I loving my spouse the way Christ loved the church?
8. Am I putting up treasure in heaven?
9. Am I sharing the message with those around me?
10. Who is holding me accountable to these foundational points upon earth?

I believe that when we face the facts about our own downturn of economic growth we will find that in one or even several of these areas we are not following God's plan. I encourage you to begin today seeking a Christ centered bible teaching church where truth is proclaimed and lived out, and focused upon the eternal not the temporal problems surrounding our lives. For I believe that when we focus upon the true solution all else will workout to the greater good for us and for those that follow God's plan.
